This one-day course is designed for specialist drug and alcohol service workers who wish to develop or enhance their knowledge and skills in working with men or women. The course will also be useful to more generic workers who want to improve their practice in relation to drug and alcohol misusers.
The course uses experiential learning methods whilst acknowledging the principles of adult and lifelong learning, providing participants the opportunity to discuss, and where appropriate, practice skill based interventions. Youth Workers, Social Workers, Doctors, CPN’s, Health Visitors, Drugs Workers, CARAT Workers, Probation, Police, Resettlement Officers, Managers and anyone who comes into contact with the aforementioned client group.
