The Right Route

Implementing an Effective Mentor / Advocacy Programme

Date/Location: A date and location for this course is currently being planned. If you would like to be added to the waiting list and informed of relevant location and date, please email enquiries@therightroute.co.uk.

This 1 day course offers a dynamic range of training methods, approaches and ideas - all aimed at ensuring that your Mentor / Advocacy programme is set up correctly and runs efficiently. Additionally, it centres on ensuring that you recruit and train the best candidates. The course will encourage you as a participant to look 'outside the box' towards adapting highly flexible and informal approaches within training programmes that are designed to meet the specific learning needs of applicants wishing to become Mentors. While mentoring and befriending programmes may sometimes differ in their aims and practices, the steps involved in setting up and running a programme are similar. Many DIP programmes throughout the U.K. have utilised the skill base of mentors in their 'Throughcare / Aftercare' programmes. The Right Route were instrumental in setting up the FIRST DIP mentor programme in the U.K.
