This one day workshop will focus on the recently introduced 'Restriction on Bail' (RoB) initiative. RoB was introduced under the Criminal Justice Act 2003, it requires defendants who are charged with trigger offences and who test positive for cocaine or opiate use to undergo drug assessment and treatment, where required or be remanded in custody. This initiative has been piloted in 7 boroughs in London. It applies to those who reside in a pilot borough and appear at a pilot court who have tested positive for Class A drug use on charge and their offending behaviour is linked to their drug use.
Drug Workers, Police, Probation, Social Workers, Mental Health Practitioners, Solicitors, Barristers, Court staff, Co-ordinators and Managers working within the criminal justice, drugs, alcohol field.
